6 Key Tools You need to have in order to make money online

People do often ask me if making money online is actually possible and I am always quick to reply in the affirmative. Making money online is real and I can testify to that as I have earned several hundreds of dollars online.

However, just as every profession has its own set of unique tools, so also does making online requires you setting up some basic tools up and running. Below are some of the very basic tools you should have on ground that will help you to achieve success online:

1) An Internet enabled Device: This is the first and foremost device to acquire if you seriously want to achieve success online and it is as pretty straight forward as that. You will certainly need a desktop or a laptop computer at some point but a smartphone is good enough to at least get you started on the internet of things where you will have access to a whole lot of opportunities and platforms to earn income online.

Some vital things to consider when purchasing a laptop or smartphone include the processing speed of the processor, computer RAM size, battery capacity and storage size, etc. In general, an android phone having at least a 2GB RAM size, 4500mAH battery capacity and 32GB ROM size is a good enough minimum requirement towards a smooth take off into the digital world of money making and multiplication.

2) Strong internet connection:It is clearly written in the Holy book that "faith without works is dead" and therefore  a personal computer or smartphone without a strong internet connection/data spells out disaster.

As you probably may have noticed, there is no sure reliable internet service provider in this part of the world. Service uptime and quality in Nigeria varies from place to place and from time to time. A slow data speed would result to bitter frustration hence the reason why I often suggest that people  have at least three sim cards from any of the service providers and use them interchangeably based on their service speed at any given time.

I personally use MTN, GLO and Airtel networks interchangeably for my online hustle based on my location and service quality per time.

3) Government issued identiy card:By now  you  have acquired a laptop or a smartphone and have a strong internet connection, the next thing to get is to make sure that you have obtained any of the following Government issued identity card such as Driver's license, International passport, National Identification Number and or perhaps your voter's card.

Nowadays online money making platforms are mandated by relevant laws to conduct a KYC (know your customer)  research before opening an account for them and as such these platforms would often require users to upload any of the aforementioned documents that will help them verify your identity and hence complete a user's account opening on your platform.

I suggest you have in your possession at least any two of the above listed documents as this will guarantee having no issues during registrations on the money making platforms that I will be sharing with you on my subsequent posts. In summary below are the listed documents:

1. International passport

2. Driver's License

3. National Identity number (NIN)

4. Voter's card

4) A dollar denominated debit/credit card: Whether you believe it or not, the United States Dollars (USD) is the fiat currency for most internet based transactions and as such you will definitely need a USD denominated Visa/MasterCard credit or debit card to help you pay for certain web services and subscriptions such as purchasing domain names and paying for web hosting  plans.

A friend of mine will often jokingly remind me and I quote "Even in Freetown, nothing is free". You need money to make more money. I personally use  Access bank plc issued Visa dollar debit card for my internet based transactions. I know people who make use of UBA, GTB and FCMB dollar denominated debit cards as well and they have not had any complains whatsoever. All you need to do so as to be able to get yours is to simply walk into the nearest branch of your bank and open a domiciliary account. Your bank may require a recent utility bill such as electric bill, a $50- $100 deposit (depending on your bank) and a Federal government issued means of identification in other to set up your dollar card and it may take up to 3 weeks for your card to be ready for pick up.

5) Open an account with a third party payments processor:

Now that you almost have everything ready to begin your journey into the digital world, the last step to take is to open an account with a third party payments processor. The payment processor acts as the middle man between the first party, that is, the money making website and the second party, you the earner, to ensure that all the money you will earn on the money making  site are safely withdrawn into your account with the payment processor from where the money could finally then be transferred into your personal bank account with a small commission charged.

Please do note that the various online money making platforms have various payment gateways they use for sending out payments to their users and that is why you must always check on the money earning site the types of payment processors they use and ensure that you open an account with them accordingly.

The biggest and by far the most popular payment gateway or processor in terms of daily transaction volume and number of registered users is PAYPAL.

Unfortunately however, paypal does not permit Nigerians to use their platform for receiving funds but only for sending out money to make payments.

The good news however is that there are  several other alternatives to the almighty Paypal that you can use to deposit, send and receive money. They include among many others:

i) Payoneer:

ii) Skrill

iii) Netteller

iv) Perfect money

v) Payeer

6) Create a Bitcoin wallet address : some money making sites will rather pay their users in digital currencies such as bitcoins. The world is gradually settling to the reality of crypto currencies as a valid means of exchange as several billions of dollars have been invested by some of the world's wealthiest investors in the blockchain technology.

Moreover, transactions involving Cryptos such as  bitcoins, the most popular crypto currency, are usually fast and the transaction costs are quite smaller when compared to their paper currencies counterpart.

And as such you will also need to open a bitcoin wallet for sending and receiving coins. Some of the leading platform s where you can create your own unique bitcoin wallet include platforms such as Blockchain, Paxful, Binance amongst many others as

I personally have used some of the above listed payment processors and I have had no issues during withdrawal of my funds.
